At BGC Canada, we believe in the power of young people to inspire positive change, and Shahaddah Jack is an incredible example of that.

A behind the scenes look at the recording session with Shahaddah Jack.

Shahaddah is a bilingual spoken word poet, 2022 BGC Canada National Youth of the Year from BGC Eastview, Toronto’s first Youth Poet Laureate, and most importantly, a BGC Club Kid.

Over the years, she has become a standout leader in her Club and her community. She’s mentored younger members, led initiatives that champion equity and inclusion, and used her voice to spark important conversations.

Shahaddah believes in the power of opportunity and in the support that BGC Clubs provide to young people across the country.

Her story is a reminder of the incredible potential in every young person.

At BGC Canada, we’re proud to support youth like Shahaddah in finding their voice and changing their communities for the better.

We asked her to write a piece on BGC’s impact and she certainly delivered.
